In the evening of Thursday, Queen Elizabeth II passed away peacefully at her residence in Scotland at the age of 96. As the longest-reigning monarch in British history, as the head of the country and as a towering presence on the world stage for nearly seven decades, she occupied a powerful position on the international stage.

Place of Birth : 

In Mayfair, London, Queen Elizabeth was born as the first child of the Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth of England). 

Father : 

The throne was acceded to by her father in 1936, following the abdication of the king's brother, King Edward VIII, which made Elizabeth the presumed heir to the throne.

Education : 

Her education was privately provided by her family. She began to be involved in public duties during the Second World War, serving as an auxiliary in the Auxiliary Territorial Service during that war. 

Marriage And Husband :

She married Philip Mountbatten, a former prince of Greece and Denmark, in November 1947. Their marriage lasted 73 years until his passing in April 2021, making her one of the longest married women in history.  

Children : 

She had four children: Charles III; Anne, Princess Royal; Prince Andrew, Duke of York; and Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.
